A brief travel down memory lane.
The West Wyomissing Chapel began in the 1930s as a series of meetings led by James Seymore and George Benninger in the West Wyomissing Civic Center. The group later moved to the West Wyomissing Grade School.
In 1953, the group officially organized and called their first pastor, Reverend Elmer Piper. The following year, in March of 1954, they laid the cornerstone for their new church building on land donated by Mrs. Florence Gerhart. Volunteers helped build the church, and the first service was held in the new auditorium on September 01, 1954. The building was then dedicated on Easter Sunday 1957. A special ceromony was held to commemorate the burning of the mortage on November 22, 1967. Since then the church has continued to grow and prosper by the grace of God!
Throughout its history, the church has had several pastors:
Reverend Elmer Piper (1953-1963)
Reverend J. Norman Mayer (1963-1970)
Reverend George E. Lease (1970-1975)
Reverend Robert Phillips (1975-1998)
Dr. Brett Reider (1998-2025)
